About this tool

A standard shared post or link image on Facebook displays at 1200×630 pixels, while a square 1080×1080 post shows fully in the feed without side cropping. A cover photo is a wide 820×312 banner at the top of a Page or profile, and a profile picture displays as a small 170×170 circle.

This tool avoids the stretching you'd get from simply forcing a photo to a target size. "Fill" scales your photo up to cover the exact preset dimensions and crops the overflow evenly, matching how Facebook itself would crop an upload — just under your control instead of Facebook's auto-crop deciding for you.

A profile picture displays as a circle, so keep your subject centered when using that preset — the corners of the square export will be cropped away by Facebook's own circular mask.
