ToolDashy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Summary

  • The tools run in your browser. Files you open and text you enter are processed on your device and are not uploaded to ToolDashy's servers.
  • There are no accounts, sign-ups or contact forms.
  • ToolDashy does not currently use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or cookies.
  • A few tools save your notes or settings in your own browser so they're still there next time. That data stays on your device.
  • Like any website, the servers that deliver the site receive standard technical request data, such as your IP address.

This policy covers tooldashy.com and describes how the site works today. If that changes — for example, if advertising is added — this page will be updated first.

Files and text you use with the tools

When you choose a file in an image, PDF, OCR, barcode or QR code tool, your browser reads it and processes it on your device using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The file, and the result the tool creates, are not sent to ToolDashy or to any other processing service. Downloads are generated in your browser and saved straight to your device. The same applies to the text, numbers and settings you enter into calculators, converters, generators, text tools and developer tools.

Some tools need extra code to work — for example the PDF renderer, the image-compression worker, the barcode decoder or the English text-recognition model used by Image to Text. These are downloaded from ToolDashy's own website when you first use the tool, not from third-party servers. Downloading them doesn't send your files anywhere.

One exception is content you add yourself: if you write a link to an image hosted elsewhere into the Markdown Preview, your browser loads that image from the server it is hosted on, just as it would on any web page.

Because processing happens on your device, the security of your files also depends on your device and browser. Results you download are saved like any other download, and data some tools keep in browser storage (below) can be seen by anyone who uses the same browser profile.

Cookies and browser storage

ToolDashy's own code does not set any cookies, and the site doesn't use cookies or browser storage for analytics, advertising or tracking.

A few tools use your browser's local storage to remember what you entered. This is functional storage: it's written only when you use that tool, it stays in your browser on your device, and it is never sent to ToolDashy. It is not removed automatically, but it isn't available in other browsers or on other devices, and private/incognito windows discard it when closed.

Your browser may also keep the site's pages, scripts and images in its normal cache to load them faster. To remove everything ToolDashy has stored, clear the site data for tooldashy.com in your browser's privacy or site settings.

There is no cookie banner because the site doesn't currently use any cookies or storage that require consent. If that changes, this section will be updated and you'll be asked for consent where the law requires it.

Server and hosting logs

To deliver the site, the servers of our hosting provider receive the standard information your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, the page or file requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. The hosting provider may record this in technical logs, as almost all web hosts do. These logs don't contain the files you process or the text you enter in tools, because those are never sent.

We use this kind of information only to keep the site running, secure and reliable — for example to diagnose errors or investigate abuse — and not to build profiles of visitors. How long logs are kept depends on the hosting provider's settings.

Analytics

ToolDashy does not currently use any analytics service, visitor statistics script or tracking pixel. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first to name the service, explain what it collects and describe your choices, including consent where the law requires it.

Advertising

ToolDashy does not currently show advertising, and no advertising scripts or cookies are used. We may show ads in the future to keep the tools free — for example through Google AdSense. Before that happens, this policy will be updated to explain how the advertising provider uses cookies or similar technologies, and visitors in regions that require it (such as the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland) will be asked for consent through a consent tool before personalised ads or related cookies are used.

Third-party services

Pages on ToolDashy don't load scripts, fonts, images, videos or widgets from other companies. The site's font is served from ToolDashy's own domain, and there are no embedded videos, maps or social media buttons. The only third-party services involved today are the hosting provider that delivers the site and, if you email us, the email providers that carry your message.

When you email us

If you email info@tooldashy.com, we receive your email address, your name if your email includes it, and whatever you write or attach. We use this only to read and reply to your message and to fix or improve the site, and keep it only for as long as it's useful for that. Please don't send sensitive files or personal details that aren't needed for your question.

Sharing and selling

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone except where needed to run the site (such as our hosting and email providers) or where we are required to by law.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and keeping file processing on your device means your files are not stored on our servers. No website or browser can be guaranteed completely secure, though, so keep your browser and device up to date and avoid storing sensitive information in tools that save to browser storage on shared computers.

Children

ToolDashy is a general-audience website and isn't directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where they live. The tools don't ask for personal information. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

If ToolDashy links to another website, that site is run by someone else and its own privacy policy applies.

Visitors from different countries

ToolDashy can be used from anywhere, and the hosting and email providers that support it may process technical data in other countries. Depending on where you live — for example in the EEA, the UK or California — you may have rights over your personal information, such as asking to access, correct or delete it, or objecting to how it's used. Because the tools don't send your data to us, the main personal information we may hold is email correspondence. To make a request, email info@tooldashy.com. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when the site changes in a way that affects your privacy, and change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes, such as adding analytics or advertising, will be described here before they take effect.
