How to use world clock
- 1Your local time and time zone appear at the top.
- 2Type a city or time zone name (for example “Toronto” or “Europe/Paris”) and press Add.
- 3Each city shows its current time, date, UTC offset and difference from your time — including “tomorrow” or “yesterday” when the date differs.
- 4Use the arrow buttons to reorder cities or the bin icon to remove them. Your list is remembered in this browser.
About this tool
Times are calculated by your browser's built-in time zone database (the same IANA database used by operating systems), so daylight saving time changes are applied automatically and correctly for each location — there are no manually maintained offsets that could go out of date.
Example: during most of the year London is 5 hours ahead of New York, but for a few weeks in March and in late October/early November the gap is 4 hours, because the US and UK change their clocks on different dates. The world clock always shows the real current difference. Sydney's daylight saving runs in the opposite season, so its offset from the UK and US shifts too.
To work out what time it will be somewhere else at a specific future time — for scheduling a meeting, for instance — use the Time Zone Converter. The world clock uses your device's clock, so if that is wrong, every city will be off by the same amount.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Each city's time comes from your browser's time zone database, which includes daylight saving rules, so the times and differences update automatically when clocks change.
