About this tool

This preview supports GitHub-flavored Markdown — headings, bold/italic text, links, images, lists, blockquotes, fenced code blocks and tables — rendered using the same widely-used Markdown parser many developer tools rely on.

Markdown can technically contain raw HTML, which in principle could include a script tag. Before anything is ever rendered on the page, the compiled HTML is run through a dedicated sanitization library that strips scripts, event handlers and other executable content, so the preview can't run arbitrary code regardless of what's pasted into the editor.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — the rendered output is sanitized before being displayed, which strips out script tags, event handlers and other executable content. You'll see the visual formatting, but nothing in the pasted content can execute code in your browser.
