Pomodoro Timer
Work in focused blocks with regular breaks. The timer starts with the classic 25 / 5 / 15 minute pattern, counts your completed focus sessions and tells you when it's time for a break.

About this tool
The Pomodoro Technique, devised by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, splits work into timed focus intervals separated by short breaks, with a longer break after a set of intervals. The traditional pattern is 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute break, and a 15–30 minute break after four sessions — which is what this timer starts with. You can change any of the durations, and how many focus sessions come before a long break, to suit the way you work.
Example: with the default settings, a two-hour block runs focus 25 · break 5 · focus 25 · break 5 · focus 25 · break 5 · focus 25 · long break 15. The counter shows how many focus sessions you've finished and how many remain before the next long break.
Like the site's other timers, it counts down to an exact finish time rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate if the browser slows the page in a background tab, and the time left shows in the tab title. Your settings are remembered in this browser only — there's no account and nothing is sent anywhere. On phones, browsers may pause pages that aren't on screen, so keep the timer visible if you rely on the alert.
