About this tool
The notepad saves to your browser's local storage on this device. Close the tab, restart your computer or come back next week and your note is still there — as long as you use the same browser on the same device. It also keeps open tabs in sync: edit in one and the other updates.
Nothing is sent to a server, so your note is private to this browser. That also means it isn't backed up: clearing your browsing data, using a private/incognito window, or switching browsers or devices will remove or hide it. Download a .txt copy of anything important.
Use it for quick to-do lists, meeting notes, drafting a message before pasting it elsewhere, or holding text you're moving between apps. For detailed text statistics such as sentences, paragraphs and reading time, paste your text into the Word Counter.
