About this tool

Cost per click is the average amount you pay for each click on an ad: CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks. It's the main pricing model for search ads and is widely reported for social ads as well.

Example: $100 spent for 200 clicks is a CPC of $100 ÷ 200 = $0.50. At that CPC, a $750 budget buys about 1,500 clicks. If those 200 clicks came from 10,000 impressions, the click-through rate is 2% and the effective CPM is $10.

A low CPC isn't automatically good — cheap clicks that never convert cost more in the end than pricier clicks that do. Use it alongside conversion rate and ROAS. With zero clicks there's no cost per click to calculate, so the tool asks for at least one.

Frequently asked questions

Divide total ad spend by the number of clicks. For example, $300 for 600 clicks is a CPC of $0.50.
