CSV to JSON Converter

Convert CSV data into a JSON array of objects — the first row becomes the field names, and every row after that becomes one JSON object.

Everything you enter is processed in your browser and isn't sent to our servers.

How to use csv to json converter

  1. 1Paste your CSV data, with a header row as the first line.
  2. 2The converted JSON appears instantly on the right.
  3. 3Copy the result or download it as a .json file.

About this tool

CSV looks simple until a field contains a comma, a quote, or a line break inside quotes — a naive split-on-comma approach breaks on all three. This tool uses a proper CSV parser under the hood, so quoted fields containing commas, and escaped quotes written as a doubled `""`, are both handled correctly rather than silently corrupting your data.

The first row is always treated as the header row and becomes the key names in each resulting JSON object; every subsequent row becomes one object in the output array.

Frequently asked questions

As long as the field is properly quoted in the CSV (like `"Smith, John"`), the comma inside the quotes is preserved as part of the field and not treated as a column separator.
