About this tool
This tool uses the same cryptographically secure randomness as the Random Number Generator to make an unbiased selection from your list. With "prevent duplicate winners" enabled, the whole list is shuffled and the first N entries become the winners, guaranteeing no name is picked twice; with it disabled, each winner is drawn independently, so the same name could be picked more than once.
Everything runs locally in your browser — your list of names is never uploaded anywhere, which matters if the list includes real people's names for something like an internal raffle or team assignment.
Frequently asked questions
Only if you leave "prevent duplicate winners" unchecked. With it checked, each winner is guaranteed to be a distinct name from your list.
