URL Slug Generator
Convert any text into a clean, URL-safe slug — lowercase, hyphenated, with punctuation and repeated separators handled automatically.
Converts text to lowercase, replaces spaces and punctuation with hyphens, collapses repeated hyphens, and converts accented Latin letters to plain ones (é → e, ß → ss, ł → l). Non-Latin scripts (Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, CJK, etc.) aren't transliterated — those characters are left out, and you'll see a notice listing them.
Everything you enter is processed in your browser and isn't sent to our servers.

About this tool
A URL slug is the readable part of a web address that identifies a specific page — typically lowercase words separated by hyphens, with no spaces, punctuation or special characters. This tool lowercases your text, replaces anything that isn't a letter or number with a hyphen, and collapses repeated hyphens into one.
Accented Latin characters are converted to their unaccented equivalent (é becomes e, ü becomes u, ã becomes a) using Unicode normalization, and Latin letters that aren't simply accented get their conventional spelling (ß becomes ss, æ becomes ae, ł becomes l, ø becomes o) — so text in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Nordic and similar languages produces a sensible result. Non-Latin scripts — Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Arabic and so on — aren't transliterated into Latin letters, because the correct romanization depends on the language; those characters are left out, and the tool shows a notice listing exactly which ones were dropped.
