About this tool
WebP is the compact format many websites now serve, but older software, some print shops and plenty of upload forms still don't accept it. PNG works everywhere and, like WebP, supports transparency — so logos, icons and cut-out product shots keep their transparent backgrounds after conversion.
The image is decoded and re-saved as a PNG on an in-browser canvas, so nothing is uploaded. Because PNG is lossless, the result looks exactly like the WebP as displayed; it's usually a larger file, especially for photos. If you don't need transparency and want small files, WebP to JPG is the better choice.
