Scientific Calculator
A scientific calculator supporting arithmetic, parentheses, powers, square roots, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions, logarithms, and the constants π and e — in degree or radian mode.
Everything you enter is processed in your browser and isn't sent to our servers.
How to use scientific calculator
- 1Type or tap an expression using the buttons.
- 2Switch between degree and radian mode for trig functions.
- 3The result updates live as you type.
About this tool
This calculator parses your expression using its own small, purpose-built parser rather than JavaScript's eval() or the Function constructor — meaning it can only ever evaluate arithmetic, never execute arbitrary code, which matters since eval()-based calculators are a well-known way to accidentally create a code-injection risk.
It supports standard operator precedence (multiplication and division before addition and subtraction), right-associative exponentiation (2^3^2 is 2^(3^2), not (2^3)^2), parentheses, square roots, sin/cos/tan in your chosen angle mode, base-10 and natural logarithms, and the constants π and e.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — the calculator only recognizes numbers, the supported operators and functions, and parentheses. Anything else produces a clear parse error instead of being executed, since this never uses eval() or the Function constructor.
