About this tool

A visible watermark credits your work when it's shared and discourages people from passing it off as their own. A small, semi-transparent mark in a corner is the usual choice for portfolios; a repeated pattern across the image is harder to crop or edit out, and suits proofs sent to clients before payment.

The watermark is drawn at the image's full resolution with a faint contrasting outline, so it stays readable on both light and dark areas. The image is saved in its original format — JPG stays JPG — and very large images are scaled to about 16 megapixels to fit browser limits.

Everything happens on your device: the photo isn't uploaded. Note that no visible watermark is impossible to remove; for valuable work, also share lower-resolution versions.

Frequently asked questions

A bottom corner is the most common and least distracting. If you're worried about cropping, place it nearer the middle or use the repeated pattern, which covers the whole image.
