How to use signature generator
- 1Choose Draw to sign with a mouse, touchscreen or stylus, or Type to enter your name and pick a handwriting style.
- 2Pick an ink color and, for drawn signatures, a pen thickness. Use Undo to remove the last stroke or Clear to start again.
- 3Keep “Transparent background” ticked so the signature sits cleanly on any document, or untick it for a white background.
- 4Press Download PNG. The image is cropped tightly around your signature at high resolution.
About this tool
Drawn signatures are captured as smooth vector strokes and rendered at three times the on-screen resolution when you download, so the PNG stays sharp when placed in a document or resized. The background is transparent by default, which means the signature won't show a white box when placed over coloured paper or a form line.
Typed signatures use handwriting-style fonts. They're quick and work entirely from the keyboard, but they look less personal than a drawn signature. Example uses: adding a signature image to an email footer, a letter, or a PDF using your PDF editor's “add image” feature.
Everything happens in your browser — the signature is never uploaded or stored. Be aware that a picture of a signature is not, by itself, a legally recognised electronic signature: rules vary by country and document type, and many agreements require a dedicated e-signature service with identity checks and an audit trail. Keep signature images private, as anyone with the file could copy it.
Frequently asked questions
Not automatically. Whether a signature image is acceptable depends on your country's laws and the document. Many contracts need a recognised e-signature process. If in doubt, ask the person or organisation requesting your signature.
